Czech Accreditation Institute, a public benefit company, as a national accreditation body established by the Czech Republic and notified by the European Commission, provides its services in accordance with applicable legal regulations in all areas of accreditation to both state and private entities. The principle of a unified European accreditation system consisting of national accreditation bodies that operate according to uniform rules and accredit according to defined internationally recognized standards is based on the New EU Legislative Framework, which also includes Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the placing of products on the market.
