ISO's Committee on Conformity assessment (CASCO)
On January 28, 2021 and January 29, 2021, the 35th plenary meeting of the ISO/CASCO commission took place, with the participation of a representative of CAI as a delegate from the Czech Republic, representing the national standards body (ÚNMZ).
CTN CAI (Centre for Technical Standardization) is the processor of this commission.
Due to the global pandemic crisis, the meeting was held for the first time in a virtual space – Zoom. Although the national accreditation body (CAI) is not a direct member, which can only be an NGO, there is the possibility of active involvement in the creation of standards, especially the ISO/IEC 17000 series, (see CASCO Toolbox www.casco.iso.org/toolbox) and conformity assessment policies are important from a CAI perspective.
The meeting approved the work plan for 2021 and the so-called "Road map" schedule of revisions of standards under the administration of CASCO. Currently, CAI is actively involved in the creation of standards within 2 working groups, ISO / IEC 17043 Conformity assessment – General requirements for proficiency testing a ISO 15189 Medical laboratories – Quality and competence requirementsWe also provide voting on proposals for other standards being prepared (e.g. ISO/IEC DIS 17030 Conformity assessment – General requirements for third-party conformity markings), to which we invited our regular partners.
We look forward to the next meeting in 2022!
