Information for Certification bodies certifying management systems

On 22. 2. 2024, a joint communiqué was published by the IAF (International Accreditation Forum) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) regarding the consideration of climate change in new and existing standards on the basis of which management system certification is carried out, see hereAmendments marked "Amd" are already being issued to the issued standards according to which management systems are certified (e.g. ISO 14001:2015/Amd 1:2024).

Amendments to the requirement to consider the organisation's approach to climate change are incorporated into Articles 4.1 and 4.2 of the standards used for certification of management systems. The intention of these amendments is to ensure that climate change is taken into account as a possible external factor within the management system.

During assessments/supervisions of certification bodies, the Czech Accreditation Institute will check whether and how this change was reflected in audits (certification, supervision) and whether the certification bodies informed their clients about this change.
