It will soon be three weeks since the full operation of the IAF CertSearch database, managed by the international organization IAF (International Accreditation Forum). IAF CertSearch is a database that was created at the initiative of users of the outputs of conformity assessment bodies in the field of management system certification. In particular, major industrial companies called for a simple tool to be available in which it would be possible to verify the validity of issued certificates in a uniform way. The IAF organization came to the aid of its stakeholders, other users and customers of accredited entities and prepared a tool that has been operating for a long time, but did not yet contain information about all issued certificates. After a one-year transition period, the moment came on October 26, 2024 when accredited certification bodies for management systems (COSM) are obliged to upload data about certificates and their holders to the database. CAI has already been involved in the database in the previous period and in the last year has intensively informed the affected entities about the benefits, but also the obligations, which arise from the operation of the database. So there is no need to hesitate, and if you are a user of the results, a representative of an office or other body, or just an ordinary consumer, you can register for free at the link provided and use the benefits of the database.

Fig. Representatives of the IAF Database Management Committee (DMC) presented basic statistics on access and use of the CertSearch database at the ILAC-IAF meeting, among other things, it is worth highlighting that half of the 100 largest companies in the world have an activated account in the database.
