In 2024, CAI made a significant contribution to the development of accreditation infrastructure within the EU and EFTA.
Within international organizations, CAI participates in tasks solved within the structures of committees, commissions and working groups of ILAC, IAF, EA and FALB. Within the framework of the mentioned international organizations, the necessary documents harmonizing the approach to providing accreditation in individual member countries are created and revised.
Within the EA, CAI employees are involved in the activities of individual committees and commissions: EA, Laboratory (LC), Certification (CC) including EA CC EU ETS, EA CC Envi and FALB, Inspection (IC), Horizontal Harmonization (HHC), Multilateral agreement Council (MAC) in which CAI has a representative in the management (MG), WG Health Care and other working groups. Within the EA GA meetings, information is provided on the implementation of tasks resulting from the adopted EA STRATEGY 2025.
In the year under review, CAI staff participated as members of EA evaluator teams in evaluations of EA MLA signatories in Turkey (TURKAK), Sweden (SWEDAC), Norway (NA) and the United Kingdom (UKAS). Currently, six CAI staff are approved by EA as evaluators who have undergone training and met all EA requirements. Experienced CAI staff also participated as trainers in the education of EA evaluators.
In 2024, CAI successfully underwent an evaluation by the FALB, an institution operating under the EC in the field of the EMAS program. The successful evaluation will be used to verify compliance with the requirements within the framework of ESG reporting.
In the area of international conformity assessment schemes, CAI, in cooperation with NUKIB, is preparing accreditation in the field of Cyber Security.
In 2024, the first step in merging the global organizations ILAC and IAF was taken, when a new organization, GLOBAL ACCREDITATION COOPERATION Incorporated, was founded at the end of the year, which in the future will bring together accreditation bodies from around the world in all areas of accreditation, including providing stakeholders with a significant role in its operation.
The above-mentioned extensive activities in the field of international cooperation were made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which supports the involvement of CAI in the development of accreditation infrastructure within the EU.
