Dear representatives of testing laboratories,
on 7. 10. 2025, a revised version of the document EA-4/22 G: 2025 – EA Guidance on Accreditation of Pesticide Residues Analysis in Food and Feed was published. This document provides guidance for both accreditation bodies and relevant laboratories on how to implement, or rather assess, technical competence in the field of performing pesticide residue analyses in food and feed. The document also refers to a comprehensive technical document – Analytical quality control and method validation procedures for pesticide residues analysis in food and feed (so-called SANTE document), published by the specialized department of the European Commission DG SANTE – the European Commission Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, which serves as a practical tool for laboratory practice, while the document EA-4/22 G: 2025 as a methodological framework according to which accreditation bodies assess the laboratory's compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard in this specific area of analysis.
