In 2018, a trilateral Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak National Accreditation Service (hereinafter referred to as "SNAS") and the Czech Accreditation Institute, ops, (hereinafter referred to as "CAI"), which was signed for the purpose of using experts and professional assessors from the SNAS database for assessing competence for conformity assessment carried out in accredited forensic laboratories in the Czech Republic.
The Criminalistic and Expertise Institute of the Police Corps (hereinafter referred to as the "KEÚ PZ") undertook to provide experts with the required expertise in expert activities for the area of assessing the competence of forensic laboratories to carry out examinations within the scope of accreditation and provided a list of forensic experts of the KEÚ PZ for their inclusion in the SNAS database as experts. SNAS conducted proper training of the offered experts on the requirements of the harmonized standard EN ISO/IEC 17025 and included the experts in the database as professional assessors.
To ensure the continued functioning of this system, SNAS and CAI, in cooperation with the KEÚ PZ, maintain an up-to-date database of forensic experts/assessors and ensure their proper training in accordance with the requirements of international standards and the European Organization for Cooperation in Accreditation (EA).
This tripartite cooperation appears to be very beneficial and the goal is to continue the established scheme and develop it in the future.
Recapitulation of the tasks arising from the tripartite agreement:
SNAS: creating and maintaining a database of forensic experts and assessors for assessing forensic laboratories.
CAI: the use of forensic assessors and experts in practice when assessing forensic laboratories in the Czech Republic.
KEU PZ: providing experts for the purpose of professional assessment of forensic laboratories.
