Biobanks

Accreditation of a Biobank means the assessment of conformity of the biobank´s quality management system with all requirements of the international standard ISO 20387.

The accreditation certificate issued by the national accreditation body is a document confirming the biobank´s competence for operation and the ability to provide biological material and associated data of appropriate

quality for research and development in a scope specified in the Accreditation Certificate.

Time scale and cost of assessment

The cost of the assessment is paid by the applicant. The rules are set out in documents:

Is the accreditation of the laboratories recognized abroad?

CAI as the national accreditation body is a full member and represents the Czech Republic in international organizations engaged in accreditation:

  • European co-operation for Accreditation – EA
  • International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation – ILAC
